The holidays are a beautiful time of year with twinkling lights, songs, gifts, and STRESS. Don’t get me wrong, I love the holidays, but often times, the stress of gift giving can rob you of the season’s joys and purpose. For teachers, it is often crunch time for grading, final exams, and holiday events that can take up much of your relaxation time. The Note

I saved this for last, because in my opinion, it is my most treasured. Call me a sucker, but I love a handwritten message about my class and the overall experience you have within those four walls. What was your favorite lesson? How did you feel in class this semester? What has changed as a result of class time spent together? Maybe it is an influence the teacher has on you. Whatever the message is, make it a positive, reflective note on your teacher. I save every note and reread them often when I need a pick-me-up. They remind me of the importance of a teacher or mentor in one’s life. You could even package this with a baked good, coffee gift card, or simply by itself on beautiful stationery from Minted, my favorite.
