Creating a Personalized .GIF theme in Google Classroom
My summer school class decided to not only hate on my art skills, but my oh-so-#basic themes from google. Well, this group needed some extra motivation, so me and my bruised artistic ego decided to bump it up a notch. I won't just upload any old .jpg in the 800x200 format, oh no, I am here to do something BOLD! Something awesome! Something AMAZING! So, I added the GIFit! extension from the google chrome web store. Then found a video of the beach, where we all wanted to be-- and recorded it. Then I modified the size. Then I uploaded.
As students were working, those who had the classroom open in another tab GASPED when they saw it come through on their screens. No more bruised ego for this teacher, only a refined, reinstated sense of self to teach these summer school kiddos. Not only is it cool to see your .GIF each time you're on the stream, Google goes one step further and matches the tones of the video to create a complimentary color for your chosen theme. YESSSSS!
